A 26-year-old youth was arrested for sexually assaulting an eight-month-old girl here, police said Friday.
The incident was reported from south Delhi's Sarita Vihar area on Aug 12.
The accused, identified as Lal Bahadur, wasarrested Aug 15 morning from Old Delhi Railway Station from where he was aboutto board a Bihar-bound train to flee the city.
The victim's mother alleged that Bahadur,her neighbour, had taken her daughter to his room on Aug 12 saying that hewanted to play with her.
"He brought back the baby after shestarted crying. She continued crying till night. When her mother noticedunusual bruises near her private part, she got suspicious and reported thematter to the police. The victim was sent to AIIMS for a medical examinationwhich found she had been sexually assaulted," said a police officer.

嫌犯名为Lal Bahadur，于8月15日在旧德里火车站被逮捕，当时他正打算逃上一辆开往比哈尔的火车。
据报道，受害者的母亲正是Bahadur的邻居。嫌犯于12日将女婴从受害者家中带到自己的房间内，并告诉受害者母亲“我只是想和她玩玩”。
“后来孩子开始哭叫，他就把她送了回来。可是孩子彻夜地哭。当母亲发现女婴的私处有不同寻常的青肿时，她开始起疑，并把事件报告给了当地警方。随后女婴被送往了全印度医学研究院，并接受了身体检查。人们这才发现她遭到了强奸。”当地警方说道。
