A four-year-old Indian girl has died inhospital nearly two weeks after she was raped and found unconscious at a farm,hospital staff and reports said on Tuesday.

The girl had been taken by air ambulancefrom central Madhya Pradesh state to the Care Hospital in Nagpur city on April20, where she died on Monday night, a spokesman said.
"She died of cardiac arrest at 7:45 pmon Monday. We were taking all measures... but yesterday her condition got badand her blood pressure went down. She was not reacting to medications,"P.A. Sriram at the hospital told AFP.
The girl had been found unconscious by herparents on April 18, a day after a 35-year-old man allegedly raped her in thetown of Ghansour and dumped her at a farm, the Press Trust of India reported.

She was initially taken to a localhospital, before being transported to Nagpur in Maharashtra state two dayslater.

The case is the latest in a string ofhigh-profile sex attacks that have sparked outrage in India over the treatmentof women and girls, with protests first erupting in December over the savagegangrape of a 23-year-old student.
The April 15 kidnap and brutal rape of afive-year-old in the capital New Delhi, spurred another round of demonstrationsin the capital over the high levels of sexual violence and police handling ofthe case.

A three-year-old girl is in hospitalrecovering from serious injuries after she was kidnapped and gang raped insouthern India.
The girl is currently under observation inintensive care.
She was sleeping beside her mother on apavement in Tirur, in Kerala, when she was kidnapped on Monday night.
The family - whose members are homeless -only noticed she was missing on Tuesday morning.
he girl was found unconscious by studentson their way to school.
One of the students told a local newspaperthat: "She had a high fever and she had ants crawling all over herbody."
Doctors at the hospital where the girl isbeing treated say it will take her months to recover.

Driver Kushi Prajapati says: "Afterthe Delhi gang rape we've been busy day and night. Women feel very unsafe andthey use our taxi service for safety reasons."

A 26-year-old youth was arrested forsexually assaulting an eight-month-old girl here, police said Friday.
The incident was reported from southDelhi's Sarita Vihar area on Aug 12.
The accused, identified as Lal Bahadur, wasarrested Aug 15 morning from Old Delhi Railway Station from where he was aboutto board a Bihar-bound train to flee the city.
The victim's mother alleged that Bahadur,her neighbour, had taken her daughter to his room on Aug 12 saying that hewanted to play with her.
"He brought back the baby after shestarted crying. She continued crying till night. When her mother noticedunusual bruises near her private part, she got suspicious and reported thematter to the police. The victim was sent to AIIMS for a medical examinationwhich found she had been sexually assaulted," said a police officer.

The victim, who lives at her parents'house, was overpowered by the youths from behind and dragged into Sanjay'shouse.
