The state-run China Daily newspaper says the men were sentenced Tuesday by courts in Hotan and Kashgar, the cities where
the attacks occurred. Thursday's report says two other Uighurs were given 19-year jail terms.

The July 18 Hotan incident involved a group of Uighurs who stormed a police station and took hostages, killing four. In
Kashgar, 13 people were killed July 30 and 31 when Uighurs attacked civilians with knives and set off explosions.
