Meanwhile American astronauts are hitchhiking on Russian shuttles.
yeah...we decided to fight a couple of wars for the corporations instead...u cant have your cake and eat it too u know...
Actually, they're not hitchhiking...the U.S. is paying full fare for the ride. :)

so who's idea was it not to include them and their bucks in the "international" space station?
Republican Wolf and Hall .... They are both hard core anti china. They have forbidden NASA to not even have contact with china and their space progam.

WE were 40 years ahead of China in manned space exploration. Now our government is standing still waiting for them to catch up and pass us. And don't think the Chinese are not going to use space as a military tool and become a huge threat.
It won't be much of a military tool because the Chinese have very little experience with how human physiology changes in space. They can't keep human spies up there forever and ever.
James. Can you name one thing we use for the majority of people that our exploration has accomplished? I'm 66 yo and I cannot except foam mattresses that are over priced
We still are ahead of the Chinese. They have launched 6 people in 9 YEARS.

Good for China, i wish them all the best.

We laugh at Chinese technology and yet we don't even have the means to send an American astronaut into space ever since NASA killed the Space shuttle program.
I gave you a thumbs up, but it wasn't NASA. It was congress. Some is NASA fault for sure, but mostly congress.
Congratulation China ! As a member of human race , I am really proud of your achievement !

Who ever thought China would be sending men into space and the USA would permanently end their space program? Obama and the current politicians in office have a lot to learn from China.

I don't think so. Manned mission will require Rs 12000 crore. The total budget of isro is 5000 crore. Moon mission cost us 450 crore. We should continue unmanned missions like European Space Agency at least till the end of this decade.

There is no glory from such achievements when you indulge in ethnic and cultural genocide and butcher your own people. Imperialism will not work in outter space. Maybe the communist party forgot that.

India should offer to co-operate with China in space. The US has refused to allow manned mission technology transfer to India. There is no point of spending all the money ourselves as we have more earthbound priorities, unless the spend really has overidng returns.

It is no secret that three astronauts will crew Shenzhou 10. China has also given hints that one of them will be a woman. As usual, the exact identities of the crew will probably remain officially concealed . Let India offer China for its Sriharikota for the launch of the Shenzhou if they at all desire.

India is no where near China in term of launching rockets. China has already launched more rockets into space than all of the European countries combined. First orbital launches: China - 1970 | India - 1980. 2010 and 2011 India conducted 6 launches, China conducted 34 launches. China sent its first astronaut into space in 2003, India’s first manned space flight is unlikely to happen by the 2016 deadline....If I care to list. Having said that, I wish both countries can work together.

This is good news, however, it would be much better if countries work together in such project that would save a lot of resources instead of spending trillions on weapons of mass destruction....but that's not going to happen, how sad.
