NEW DELHI (AP) — Indian media are reporting that a Swiss tourist was gang-raped in the central state of Madhya Pradesh and that 13 men are being questioned.
Local police superintendent C. S. Solanki told the Press Trust of India that the woman and her husband had camped out for the night in a forest after bicycling from the temple town of Orchha on Friday when they were attacked by a group of eight men.

* He said the couple were beaten and had their belongings stolen, and that the woman was gang-raped.

Women are not safe in India , yes.It's a fact.I am Indian and I love my country, there are thousands of things that make me proud to be an Indian BUT , this fact that countless number of women are raped everyday makes me sick.Most of them are not reported..Thousands of little girls are raped EVERYDAY.Shame on us.I hope I could do something to change this.

I do not see how any woman, native or tourist, could be or feel safe in India. Even having the previous gang rape incident create a nationwide and worldwide condemnation still did not deter these vicious animals from another heinous crime.

The article state the woman had no major injuries. I think mental damage from being raped that will never be healed is a major injury.

Until the laws are changed to stop rapists and molestation it will continue. To be raped or molested alters and damages the life. Ask yourself why our government allows the child molester and rapist to roam our streets? They need to be imprisoned for life. If men were raped in large numbers the laws would change.

India is becoming more prosperous and these stories are increasing. I read where some have good cars and when one man's car was damaged by another - he gets out and shoots and kills the driver. India needs to start investing in mental health. This story is sad.

One of the unwritten rules of travel is that women should not travel alone in certain countries. It seems that this rule needs to be modified in India. Women escorted by men are no longer safe in India. Women will be gang raped and the men that they are with will be severely beaten. Time to take India off the trip schedule. What should they do? Swift justice. Once the rapists are identified they should be prosecuted quickly, and then jailed for life or executed. Everyone knew this might happen in India; we hoped it wouldn't happen, but many of us knew it would happen after the ultrasounds were used as tools to abort female fetuses years ago. Now there are not enough young women in India for the men to marry. The same thing happened in China, but for different reasons.

INDIA, 1.4 Billion strong, where 50% of her population has no access to clean running water, electricity or flush toilet. Yet the average brood in a family is 7 of mostly boys since girls are routinely aborted or killed upon birth. Cows are treated better in INDIA.
